It has been a week of some changes and good reports. Up until now, everyday has been fairly boring and we have just been patient as my diet continues to be clear liquids, but nothing else has really been happening. This week, however, I learned that I had a blood clot in my right arm. That meant I had to receive a new PICC line in my left arm. All went well with the switch, but I was anxious in having it done.
The good news is that I am showing signs of improvement in the stomach, so they have decreased the level of steroids I am on and have decreased the level of another drug. The doctor said this morning that he may even change my diet to stage 2 tomorrow. That would include adding rice milk to my diet…yippee!!
Overall, it has been a good week of continued progress. It is definitely a slow process of healing and I would ask that you continue to pray for my stomach to heal and that I will not get any infections. My blood work is very good and I am so thankful for that. As a matter of fact, some of my level are totally in the normal range.
If you are reading this…thank you. I appreciate how you are staying connected with my journey. I know the Lord is at work.
Blessings,
Sam
Thanks for the progress report. I pull this up the first thing every morning, but have already prayed for all you by that time. It will be so nice when everything is back to normal for you and the family.
I see Linda even gets on a sled. What fun.
I have friends that pray for you as well. God is good!
Praying and celibrating. You and your family are deeply loved . We thank God for you. We are believing for continued improvement and complete healing. God bless you. Mike and Betsy Legg
Great News, Sam! We’re always happy to hear the good news and to know how to pray! I know you are so excited about Rice Milk!! Continuing to pray!
I check often for an update. So glad for the good news, altho I know it seems to be so slow when it is you in the hospital. We’ll take all the good news and be thankful. So glad the labs are looking so good. Some back to normal… that’s great!. I guess you never thot you’d look forward to rice milk?! Can’t say I’ve ever had any, so you’ll have to tell us how it is. Maybe this wk I will be germ free enough to come visit. I con’t to pray and believe for your complete healing. God has heard and is answering our prayers. So sorry you had to have your PICC replaced. I didn’t know that. I know that is difficult for you. Glad it went well. Can’t wait for you to be home with your girls and back to church with your family. Sending love to THE 5
We continue to pray for your needs daily. We love you. Thankful for your progress.
Prasie God for the wonderful news! Sorry about the blood clot and new PICC line, but everything else sounded great. As a family that has some milk allergies, we have tried just about all types of “milks”, but rice milk is not one of them. So, this week in honor of you, we will try rice milk with you. 🙂 (Gary said that he ‘heard’ that it was good.) We are still praying and can’t wait to see you at church again.
I check everyday to see how to pray…we continue to pray and to get everybody we know to join in for you all as well. I praise God for you and your entire healing.
Thanks for the update. You are not forgotten.
God bless all of you and continue to bring
His healing to you. Rise and be healed in the name
of Jesus.
Sam … Glad to hear that your stomach is healing. I pray for a quick and total healing. And, that your immune system remains strong. Rice milk is yummy! Good news about the blood counts!
I keep going back to Pastor Howard’s saying that God does his best work slowly. His timing is perfect. I’m glad to hear affirmation that he is indeed working on your behalf. Praising him for the good reports of the blood counts and improvements of your stomach. We are praying that he will complete the healing and you can go home to be with those precious girls. We miss you so much. Will specifically pray for no infections and continued progress for your stomach. And, yes, we follow your progess always. Much love.
So glad to hear you are continuing to improve. Always praying!
Sam, I like the sound of this. Things are definitely moving in the right direction. As I recall, rice was the first solid food I fed to my children as babies. I guess this means you are God’s baby and He is taking care of you! Trust Him! I know you do. And I trust Him for you, as so many others do.
Sandra said it well, repeating Pastor’s words, “God does his best work slowly.”
Samwell,
It was good to hear your voice today. I am sorry to hear about the picc line switch but so very grateful for your tummy’s continued improvement. I am continuing to pray and trust you to our Awesome God. Much love to you and yours. Here’s hoping hoping your separation won’t be too much longer and only as long as is absolutely necessary for your continued improvement.
Hopefully Yours.
Jodeye
Sam and Keli,
We check your journal daily and pray for you daily. We are praising God for the healing of you stomach and improvements in blood work. Let us know how you like rice milk. Sounds yummy!
We are well acquainted with rice milk at our house. With Anthony’s milk allergy, he’s had more than his fair share of it. I’ll let him know that you are joining the ranks.
You all continue to be in our prayers. Thanks for the update!
FYI — Anthony prefers the vanilla over the original if you get a choice!
Good news that your stomach is improving and the counts are good. I too check everyday for updates, and how to pray specifically! I have had rice milk and it is good, I’m sure just about anything will be good at this time.LOL Looking forward to you being home and back to leading our worship services! Love you all and continue to pray for complete healing.
Continuing to pray! Love you and your family!
So glad you updated us, but what a joy that it is an update in the right direction. God is good!
“I waited patiently for the Lord, He turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire, he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hemn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord. Do not withhold your mercy from me, O Lord; may your love and your truth always protect me. For troubles without number surround me;…Be pleased, O Lord, to save me. O Lord, some quickly to help me! Psalms 40 (exerpts) We pray for you and your family everyday and are confident the the God that heals, the God that delivers, and the God that loves each of you more than any of us can possibly imagine!!! Praise Be!!!
Sam,
It is great to hear the update. Like many others, I check daily. I’m so thankful for the good things that have happened to you this past week and pray for continued improvement. You are constantly in the prayers of our family.
Love,
DJ, Tammy, Tanner, and Daniel Webb
Dear Sam, I read and keep up with your journey. Ted and I are continuing to pray every day and every time we think if you, which is often. We are happy for the improvements and are trusting God for improvements Day by Day! The choir special “I Bless your Name” was especially meaningful today, and Keli sang it beautifully. We are lifting you all up and we love you and miss you. Ted and Becky
Sam, your beautiful Keli was anointed this morning as she sang with such sincerity and conviction “I bless your Name”. How we miss you!! We will all be “better” when you are back with us. Love always.
We are praying for you daily. Please know that we will keep praying because we know God will pour out his blessings as we lift you up to Him. We love you.
Thanks for the update, Sam. I was thinking of you as I gave blood on Saturday. May God continue to heal your body and guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus.
Sam just a reminder that we in Seymour have not and will not forget you!!! I continue to pray for GODS will. I know in some things that we as a family are going through that waiting for GOD is hard but you know as well as I that he is an “ALL TIME ON TIME GOD”. Hang in their my friend!!!
Hey, rice is one of my most favorite foods. Having it in milk form cannot be all that bad, maybe it is even good…
Just want to thank you for sharing your wonderful wife with us yesterday. Her song brought me to tears. How anyone cannot BLESS THE NAME OF JESUS is something I will never understand.
My heart dances with joy when I hear those words of blessing come from the Greens. You all are a masterpiece of GOD…
I will continue to pray and believe in all things good.
Love to you all,
Lisa
Praising with you Sam… and continue praying for complete healing and KNOW God is at work! It is the waiting that we humans struggle so much with :)! May God continue to strengthen you not just physically but spiritually, emotionally and mentally during this waiting time! We love you Sam!
Hi Sam,
Praying that rice milk is in your near future! Isn’t it wonderful how we become aware of the “little things” with which God blesses us? Under normal circumstances, who would think of rice milk as a blessing? That awareness will stay with you and your family after you are completely healed – and that’s another blessing!
Hope you have a good day as God continues to work in you and through you.
Love and prayers,
Ruth
